Hi, I'm an 18 year old girl with a fear of throwing up. I have severe anxiety and everytime I get a panic attack which is very often I tend to feel sick, get shakes, hot flashes, jaw pain, etc. I had a blood test recently that showed I'm anemic as well, my diet isn't great im recently vegetarian and haven't made it to a healthy diet. This morning I had an anxiety attack. I took my nausea medicine and eventually called down. But have had anxiety all day. I had dinner around 8 pm it is now 1am I think the only water I really had today was a small glass with dinner. I'm trying to drink now but it's pretty hard. To be honest I'm panicking because my stomach feels upset. I also took a low dose iron pill with dinner. Please help
Hi! I also have a severe anxiety of throwing up. I will go to great lengths to no throw up. Actually to the point of full blown panic. You said you just recently became vegetarian, but not healthy, but I’m wondering do you have triggers that make you nauseous? Also you can take iron pills or you can go a plant based diet way. Although you do absorb less of the iron in plants, every bite counts, and adding a source of vitamin C to vegetarian sources of iron will enhance absorption. Some of the best plant sources of iron are:
Beans and lentils
Tofu
Baked potatoes
Cashews
Dark green leafy vegetables like spinach
Whole-grain and enriched breads (which would be my last choice)
Also have you spoken with a professional about this anxiety?
Hi, yeah I'll go to those same lengths, anything to not throw up. Yeah I've been trying to add more iron into my diet. I just got back from a trip which is probably why I'm having so much anxiety. Last time I went on vacation I had really bad anxiety for the few days after I got back. My anxiety usually comes on out of no where to be honest. And yes I go to therapy once a week but I haven't gone this past week because I was away. Sometimes I feel like I'm struggling to get to the next appointment like it can't come soon enough. Thank you for the list, I'll have to look up more, I do eat a lot of tofu and been trying to add more leafy greens in.
