Massive buttock pain 18 months after hip replacement

hello there, 18 months after my left hip replacement l am getting massive pain in the top of my buttock.just had an ultra sound and drained the bursa now its worse
tried my tabs and ice .anyone else get this

Could it be referred pain from your lumbar spine? Have you had an MRI?

Hi slightly different to you but I had awful groin pain that was on going from my hip replacement 2 years ago. I also had an infected bursa drained and a steroid injection that’s worked wonders. Might be worth asking for a steroid injection

yes l had an mri before i had hip op thanks for replying

thank you for your reply, l had an injection 8th Oct . no better he did say could take a few weeks to notice any difference though

Yes I have the same problem but mine has been diagnosed as Sciatica; the pain travels down one leg as well. Your problem could be a completely different diagnosis

are you sure its not your SI joint? Despite months of physio after my THR, I have reduced mobility in my hip and it causes my SI joint to work much much harder, causing pain.
