I have been going in circles with health issues, have made some post in regards to Meaniers I was diagnosed with it in my late 20s I am 63 now. At first I had pretty severe vertigo, nausea and just plain anxiety panic but after they diagnosed me I felt much better putting a name on what was going on. It finally subsided and I went on to live my life with fewer vertigo attacks, tinnitus off and on and ear pressure. I never went back to doctor because I would just tell myself its the meaniers took the meclizine and watched my diet. Well about 6 months ago I had a vertigo attack the only thing is the balance issues stayed with me and the dizzyness I cant turn my head or bend over without almost falling over. So I did go to the emergency room because I thought I was having a stroke. They did MRI and found a small very small menngenomia begin brain tumor. I was sent to ENT and Neuro doctors. ENT did not think it was Meaniers and the Neuro doctor as well. But they both insisted the tumor was way too small to be causing balance problems. I was so confused and the anxiety set in panic attacks if it is not meaniers what is it??? The ENT ordered an ENG I had that done yesterday waiting 2 month to get it done. Guess what I have Meaniers both ears!!! Yes and he was as shocked as you can imagine. The results all pointed to it. Also one thing he said was I have a little central nerve damage??? I will see my neuro doctor and find out more about that he said he was going to call the neuro dr to talk to him about the results as the neuro doctor said I did not have meaniers at all...He thought I had panic disorder. All this is causing me to have a panic disorder for sure!!! Now I am second guessing their diagnosis ofthe tumor.. My ENT also mentioned the burn out thing but really did not explain it to me. Does that mean when both ears burn out I will be bed ridden....so darn scary. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear from you.
J,
I recently read a good description of the stages of Menieres and the explanation of Burnout. I'm passing this along to you because I have Menieres as well and I have read countless articles and studies, trying to find answers as we all are. This explanation seems to match burnout as well as any that I have read. Google search
"Stages of Menieres" Fleetly Dreamings Blog.
I would like to add that for me, anti anxiety meds help. I think that most can agree that being more relaxed and getting plenty of sleep helps a lot. I hope this helps you in some way. Good luck J.

Hi, like you I was diagnosed at 27 with Menieres. Now coming up to 84. Had labrynthectomy hearing removed in left ear stopped vomiting.2 further ops.Attacks Tinnitus fir years but in past 10 years tinnitus increases distortion and loss of hearing and balance.Betahistine 16 mg three times a day. Been given clarity aid which doesn't really help as hearing and distortion changes constantly. Have walking aid which helps me to go out alone but my confidence is low as attack occurred unexpectantly and I just spun. Seen various consultants, who can offer me nothing. Present time the tinnitus and loss of hearing and clarity feel my head will explode, am waiting to see yet another consultant. I do get very depressed. At my age I really have had enough of this relatively unknown disease. My stirs us depressing which is why zi don't comment very often. BUT a really big BUT this Forum has kept me going. I am not alone and neither are you jonese. We are all throwing up, falling down and understanding each other's pain. My one aid is I have a sense of humour, trying to hold on to it at times, but we've been given a life and together we must try to take comfort that others share it, Fingers crossed for the 18th.
Thank you for responding it seems the only comfort is hearing others are in the same boat. I hat that because I would not wish this on anyone and I mean anyone. I worry so much about my children and grandchildren. So far the kids have not shown signs but I do have plenty of grandchildren and I pray they are not affected. I just wish I could have a couple of good days without the anxiety panic. God Bless everyone affected and praying for miracles!!
