Hi so i was not educated on penis hygiene and as such grew up without ever using proper hygeine or even pulling back my foreskin. I recently began to retract the foreskin in the past couple of weeks and noticed i had difficulty. This is because of phimosis and balantis so i have done stretching exercises to make it better. I have now started to clean my penis, glands and noticed the pink colour of the meatus. I have no clue whether this is normal or not and i am in desperate need of help.
What age are you? How much of the glans / head were you able to expose before you began the stretches? Did you see any of the gland or was it just the Meatus you could see in the main … ?
And yes, like you I grew up not knowing about penile hygiene and the need to expose the glans as part of good penile hygiene.
I think the Meatus itself is fine, but is is the skin elsewhere on the glans that could be a potential concern - but this could be due to lack of previous exposure.
I wonder whether you have skin problems elsewhere on your body such as Psoriasis or Eczema … ?
Hi i’m 20 years old. I was not aware that the foreskin needed to be retracted until a couple of weeks ago so I have been stretching slowly and steadily to avoid complications while making sure that the glands exposed. I have tight foreskin so naturally i have adjusted to this and made sure that I don’t overdo it to avoid pain or worse yet injury.
I am not aware of any other skin problems except for dry skin. I haven’t been diagnosed with eczema or psoriasis however as soon as the covid restrictions are lifted i will go to my family doctor to do a body check.
Your cautious approach to stretching is the right approach. See the stretches in a similar way to any bodily exercise - when you have not done them you start real easy, and stop whenever you feel pain.
Build on the amount of stretches you do over a period of weeks and months, never just in a matter of days. Best time to stretch is during a warm shower or immediately afterwards.
