I’m a 44 year old healthy male and I’m at a healthy weight. I have a few issues with my feet that prevents me from jogging, so I tried walking to burn calories. I was walking 2-3 miles for about 3 weeks before I started noticing pain in my medial malleolus (protruding bone on the inner side of the ankle). It’s been about 3-4 months now and it still hurts even though I’ve stopped all unnecessary walking. Now I can tell that the bone looks larger than the bone on my other ankle, so I guess it’s swollen. The pain isn’t getting better. I’ve spoken to a podiatrist and he said there are no tendons there so he doesn’t understand why I have pain there. My physical therapist doesn’t know either. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this?
