As it I've said further down - it is for some things.
It is available here where I live - I couldn't afford it though! The army are looking at setting up guarded plantations to reduce the costs (honestly) - at present it is sourced from the Netherlands.
Obviously her GP is not on the ball then or she hasn't mentioned it believing it was a banned substance. I will tell her. She will be delighted 😀
Now why doesn't your first comment surprise me...
I suspect it may need some hoops to be jumped through - but it can be got.
Yep, I'm waiting for when it is legal and in roll on form.
So do you take your both cbd and prednisone?
are you ingesting the oil that you get in the health food stores as a food supplement or is the oil from the capsules?
it is medically legal here too but is only prescribed for people who have terminal illness or who have survived traumatic injuries and are coping with severe chronic pain. I don't know how they gauge the pain of pmr but I have never heard mention of it from any of my own physicians .
is your reluctance due to an (understandable)lack of confidence in the standard of the product?
I find that wine and prednisone don't go so well together....I turn bright red in the face...and red is not my colour!
I wonder why it is so expensive in Italy.
Market forces - supply and demand...
I would feel more comfortable all around if I was able to have a face to face conversation with the person selling it in a licensed establishment. On the other hand I think it's ridiculous having to wait for this particular product to be readily available. I suppose if it's effective enough to treat MS and epilepsy they do need to keep tabs on it, control dosages and such, but surely my local pharmacy, or for that matter organic foods store which carries a lot of supplements, some of questionable value, could sell it? Human beings, including lawmakers and regulators, are funny.
The oil which would help PMR directly, by treating inflammation, is not the same substance used to alter mood and deal with other types of pain, which is the kind we usually hear about. This oil is, apparently, currently a wasted byproduct from the food industry as the seeds and seed oil are produced like any other crop, but the leaf oil cannot be sold to the public.
The oil is coconut oil that I've heated the cannabis gently in and then leave it to infuse, this is the oil I ingest. Cannabis isn't legal here (Ireland) so i just do for myself and thankfully have found it very effective😌
Best this be sent as private message?
I'm guessing that it takes a lot of testing to get a drug approved, and that maybe the level of profit from the more-natural type of cures perhaps can't justify the cost of testing. So even if effective it mighttake longer to get to market.
Here in California there is negligible enforcement unless one manufactures, sells or uses in public or whie driving. I tested it once in smoked form for my CRPS condition following a "broken" wrist injury, and for which I had been prescribed Lyrica (which I never took), but it didn't really help me with the CRPS.
I haven't tried it for pmr but I would be surprised if it didn't help with my frequent waking at night. I have by now gotten used to waking 4-6 times every night!
I know the James Pagett Hospital...did and possibly still do prescribe it for MS....it`s in Norfolk....
The testing and monitoring procedures for medications are indeed VERY expensive - multi-millions of dollars. And it isn't JUST the testing - it is all the manufacturing and production processes which must also be carried out under strict controls that cost as well.
Hi Dan
I take it mainly for sleep and it is great that way. Certain strains and much better for sleep than others.
You should try it.
I, too, don't understand why I now wake up so many times during the night....is it the 01:30 dose of prednisone? Is it the pmr? It's exhausting!
