Medication for Anxiety

I suffer from GAD and a severe vomit phobia. I have chronic nausea which can trigger bad panic attacks.

I have tried sertraline, did nothing, no side effects

I have tried mirtazapine, helped me sleep but did nothing for my anxiety, side effect of a 10kg weight gain!

I'm also on lorazepam and have been for a year!

I also take prochloroperazine for my nausea which doesn't really do anything but I take it because it makes me feel more in control like I'm less likely to vomit.

So here's the question, in your experiences and in response to my issues does anyone have any recommendations that might help my anxiety and hopefully my nausea!!! Because it makes my life quite unbearable and I do not feel ill cope.

HI not that ginger

I have to say in my personal opinion propranolol worked very well for me you can get sustained release ones. or ones that are quick acting.

They were very affective for myself after trying many many different ones. Unfortunately due to my Astma.

I was told two weeks ago to come off them!!!

I am now on Topiromate I have adjusted but they are not the same.

Maybe go back to your dr and talk about drugs for anxiety. It's worth talking and having a mechanism review.

Good luck

Hello! I’m suffering from the exact same thing atm with a fear of vomiting and have nausea constantly which trigger panic attacks. I was also prescribed mirtazipine but only found it helpful at night for sleeping.

Have you found anything that has helped? CBT or a particular medicine like an SSRI?

Take care
