medication worries

i am worried what my psychiatrist is going to say tomorrow. my care worker will talk to my psychiatrist tomorrow. i have asked the question that if my prozac 40 mg hasnt worked after so many weeks or months then would it be ok to increase it to 50 mg? or is it a good idea to increase it to 50mg anyway? i am worried my carer will say no we cant give you an answer to any of these questions. i also asked a question about quetiapine being increased from 250 mg to 300 mg. im just rather wairy of tomorrows disapointment if nobody can answer my question on if i need to increase can i? i am wondering if these questions are normal or am i being obsessive.

Maybe obsessive?  I am sometimes the same with medication I want a quick fix for my anxiety and wish I could take a tablet and magically anxiety goes away I wish!  I have just started on fluoxetine which I did not even know was Prozac! Been on it a week 20mg and feeling quite spaced out but hoping it will help with this horrendous anxiety and dizziness as a result.  It is good you are also seeing a psychiatrist you may have to give things more time but it is incredibly frustrating good luck today xx

Hello Beady

I am a long-term taker of Fluoxetine, and yes, it was sometime before I realised it was Prozac.  However, it turned out to be the med that suited me.  The most noticeable side effects for me are "bizarre dreams", and sometimes feeling very lethargic even after a good night's rest.  On the plus side it seems to keep me calm.  Most of my anxiety has been caused by "outside influences" over which I have no control.  Some of which have recently been removed, and what a difference THAT makes.  Good Luck everyone.

Thank you for your message.  I am hoping this fluoxetine will help my anxiety I have been on it a week and my body is still getting used to it I feel quite spaced out a lot of the time and have increased anxiety, feel a bit sick and have a headache.  Was quite anxious today but Wednesday nite I go to yoga and I forced myself to go and it certainly helps me I feel more relaxed but hoping I will feel much better soon when the meds kick in want to feel more calm.  I am feeling quite lethargic at the moment and was having a bit of difficulty sleeping but I am sleeping better now but having more dreams!  xx

Obsession, sorry. You will find out tomorrow and no sooner. Only your health professionals can answer them. That's the absolute cold truth. An unbendable fact of the universe, out of your hands and something you can put down and not think of.

This is not me beingharsh or making fun. It's a coping strategy that works well for me. I have a deal with my brain that I don't think about things that are not my responsibility, and I certainly don't worry about them.
