Meditation and Mantras I Use

Someone here asked about meditation when I was talking about it in a thread and I can't recall who and which thread.

Mediation can work wonders.,...I've done it on and off for years and have to keep reminding myself TO DO IT... I've done group mediations and do them home alone.

I like silent mediations....getting in a totally silent space, quieting your mind and go into a silent nothing...when your mind drifts bring it back to silence.

I often use Mantras and my most recent one and just came out of a 20 minute meditation and the word I use a lot is ENGERY, keep repeating this word over and over in my mind for 20 minutes or more, the longer the better.

Another Mantra I often use if NO PAIN, keep repeating it just like I said above.....

Hip replacements are not our only health issues and I do deal with bodywide Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia and then the complications from the hip replacement.....so a real big basket of unhappy stuff...

I've done guided meditations but for me the Simple Silence or the Mantra works best for me....

So there it is, get on the Meditation Wagon and see/feel changes in your life....turn off the noise of every day stuff and go into silence.....j

PS: Thinking back to my mom and her rosary, this was a form of meditation and she didn't even know it....she dealt with a lot of CWAP in her marriage and this got her thru a lot of it. I'm not a bit religious so the way I do it is what works for me.

I dont particularly like group meditation or relaxation.....I'm better at home with a CD or nothing.

I find concentrating on your breathing {after getting your body relaxed...no tension} is the best for me.....breathe in through my nose, brathe out through pursed lips and as I breath out thining    NO PAIN and imagine breathing out the pain.

The only thing is I need to keep remembering to do it....it takes practice and at the beginning you feel its not doing any good.....so I have to remember!!!!!!

I'm going to give it a go for sure. 

Interesting my mum too had a very tough life and found so much solace in the rosary (and I could never quite get why). It now makes so much sense. 

I have tried on the past to visualize healing light with some success- have you ever done anything like this.

I'm not a catholic so the rosary doesnt come into it but some people would rather meditate on a verse of scripture....there are lots of them.

I think as long as you are relaxed and meditating on something....doewsnt have to be new age LOL it can have the same effect

Hope it helps....sometimes I don "NO PAIN" on an out breath when I'm relaxed etc but other times I might just take a couple of words about healing from the bible and nuse them......Like I say....dont think it matters.

I mean the rosary must have been the same???

I just close my eyes and listen to new age music.  It is like meditation for me.

Good whatever works....I like programming the brain with positive words like Energy Energy Energy ..........

Pain Free, Pain Free, Pain Free......

Less Pain, Less Pain, Less Pain......

You will never know why!
