In the lost month I’ve had a week or spotting
Following this my period started very heavy, huge clots which had continued for 12 days. On the 12 day I thought it was ending but instead flooding heavily. I ^also feeling tired and weak
Went to the doc who said to take mefenamic acid 2 tablets 3 times a day for 4 days. Yesterday seemed to slow down but this morning heavy again.
I’m on day 2 of 4 of the tablets.
Will it stop whilst I am taking them or will it take a while? Should I take more if it hasn’t worked after 4 days?
you could have polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis or fibroids. mefenamic acid can help heavy periods lighten up a bit, so keep taking it for now, but I would recommend asking your doctor for tests regarding your symptoms. If you start to get acid reflux/indigestion or stomach problems and pains with the tablets take some zantac or if it is really bad, nexium.
