Hi, I am going through the same thing although I have not been diagnosed yet.

I had to leave my job in July because of this.

The tinnitus is awful, my balance is so off I can't even stand or walk without a cane or walker.

Dizziness and nausea do pretty good with medication. But this is driving me crazy!!!!

What are your symptoms????

My GP Dr and I both are thinking Meniers but do the symptoms last this long?????

Idk if it's just a new way of life or will it go away for awhile I hope.

I would be happy to have my balance back that bothers me a lot !!

Dymond -- I was also diagnosed in June and have been doing better since being put on the diuretic and staying on a low salt diet.  I already take something for anxiety so maybe that's why I don't have anxiety.  The biggest challenge for me has been acceptance.  I was doing pretty good for a while but then had 2 bad days this week which frustrated me to no end.  That being said, today is a good day and you really do need to take it one day at a time.  I would encourage you to get on and be faithful to a low sodium diet -- I really believe it has alleviated some of the symptoms.  Good luck and hang in there.

THANK YOU SO MUCH

Hi mine started approx two years ago, i have kept up a regime of stretches and yoga and breathing exercises, some vestibular exercises.  I do the ones to suit.

But the exercises two years on has been invaluable.  I am on betahistines and I take beconase when feeling fullness in my ear but recently find breathing exercise helping. I swim three times a week and do a lot of walking.  I walk or cycle as a preference to get from a to b.  It really helps my anxieties and I now sleep well.  I did very little to start then increased, about 5 mins.  Now half an hour in morning and evening.  Starting off gently helped with say the head movements.  I play badmington and recently took up juggling. looking back anxiety was really bringing me down but increase the amount of exercise and fresh air has had real benefits.

pat thank you so muchits worth a try im dizzyevery day i do the low salt diet

If you have been diagnosed have they not prescribed you with anything? I personally would get back to your doctor and tell the symptoms of daily dizziness and ask to check its nothing else, blood urine etc wouldn't hurt . also check BP.  If its everyday is it certain times, all through the day, just early morning or night etc etc.  Is it when you do certain things? In a way you need to do a bit of monitoring your patterns.  If its confined to certain times could you do some walking in between???

i HAVE HAD PREDNISONE,MEDCLIZINE, AN ON WATER PILLS.,A WEEK AGO U HAD EAR INJECTION

You probably shouldn't be driving if you have MD.  I've definitely stopped driving since I was bad with it.

I was just diagnosed in July. I was prescribed HCTZ and put on a low sodium diet. I have Meclinze for emergencies but prefer not to take it unless I have an acute attack. One of the triggers is stress and my doctor really emphasized that I needed to get my stress levels down. I have a shortened work schedule now and I had to drop my classes this semester. He also suggested that as soon as I open my eyes, I get up and go for a walk - I have done this religiously for the last three weeks and the walking actually has helped. He said it is retraining my brain. I experience a lot of anxiety in general so this has been a challenge. I try to take naps on the weekends and when I get home, I am trying new things to help keep my mind off of MD and I have done very well on the loso diet. I managed 5 good days in a row this last week. Unfortunately, a weather front moved through and the last 2 days have been rough - nothing major, but definitely dizzy and off. I am learning to just adapt my life around MD and not try to fight against it. If it is a bad day, I rest. If it is a good day, I take advantage and ride my motorcycle or go to my roller derby practice. One piece of advice - don't let it define you!!!

100% agree with Sister Sledge. Get on a diuretic and stick to low salt diet. These 2 things have kept me pretty much symptom free. The low salt diet takes a few months to really see it working, so don't give up on it. It's a lifestyle change. But it is what helps MD the most. I still get occasional tinnitus and feel off balance at times. But no severe vertigo or vomitting. Google low salt foods, recipes. The Internet is full of safe foods! Hang in there. 👍

I agree with this totally capitalise on the good days. Breathing, walking, exercise and doing more for yourself, and very good if you can by yourself.  Reduce the stress. almost two years on I am doing more not less. Can't say I don't have bad days especially when there is a change in the weather.  But bad days are very much reduced to say a couple of hours.  The rehab exercise are very good, many to try, choose the ones that dont cause too many issues to begin with.

THANK YOU
