Menieres, what do I do? Have you experienced this?

Hello, I was off work for about 2 years until I was diagnosed with what they think is bi lateral Menieres. I had had attacks everyday. They finally stopped in March. Last week was my first week back and Friday was the scariest moment of my life! I am going to describe to you exactly what happened, please let me know if this is normal for Menieres. I was taken from work by ambulance.

I started feeling nauseous then my head filled with water and my ear was so painful next thing I know I was passing out and the nurse was grabbing me (I ran to medical scared) I went into a full panic I felt disoriented and I couple breath my face was numb my hands finger and stomach were all pins and needles. I was confused and couldn't talk. I felt like I was actually dying.

Any other Menieres attack I head was just extreme vertigo that I needed to sleep to rid of it.

I called the nurse after leaving the hospital as the doctor told me what I experience was a combination or Menieres dehydration and panic attack.

The nurse thinks they won't let me come back to work after this episode? Can they do that ?

So lost so confused and so fed up!

Sorry for the spelling mistakes! I should add I did black out, and today is the next day and I am so tired and lifting my head makes me feel nauseous. The plant that I work in is usually between 80-90-100 Celsius and was most likely around 90 that day

The fullness you felt in your head sometimes occurs right before an attack and yes I mean an attack. it is referred to as an aura. You may not always get this warning sign from your body. Because we are frightened to death the panic attack occurred...which can make you feel as if you are going to die or have a heart attack...so combine the severe vertigo and the panic attack....it's not pretty and I have been going through it all for 10 years.

Your work cannot stop you from working unless your doctor says you can't at least to my knowledge. You may need a note stating that you can return to work from your doctor. Don't know if this is new for you or if you have been experiencing the symptoms for a while. Have you seen a neurologist and an ENT?

With regard to the vertigo...many of my days , have been in my bedroom sleeping it off and hoping to wake up normal again.

Once you can stop being afraid of it....the panic attacks should subside. Don't let it take over your life even though it may feel that it is.

.

Thank you so much for your quick reply! Yes it's so scary!!

I started at my normal doctor who sent me to a nose ears throat, he sent me to a nero who found nothing I went back to the ears doctor and he was the one who got me in with a Menieres specialist.

Do most people who have Menieres and bi lateral Menieres work? I know my doctor will give me a note to go back again.

I have this fear of that happening again, I don't want it to happen to me out side of home... But hiding isn't going to do me any good!
