have anyone been on the 13 day steroid therapy medications for this disease
Hi Chipp
Several times I was treated with steroids to try and calm the episodes. It does lessen the severity but steroids have a lot side effects.
Willow
I was wondering I feel awful every since I started them I don't feel any help I'm sick I went back to Memphis to she a ear clinic last Friday I had 2 attacks with 3 weeks at work insurance not any good sometimes I feel like no one knows how to help these steroids oral are making me weak tired hungry just everything thanks
WHat dose are you on ?
Take something to protect your stomach like zantac
Short course of steroids should cause too many side effects
I’ve been on steroids for other issue for months and they made no difference at all
I have discontinued taking steroids. Initially micro doses injected into the middle ear and 7-day oral regimens were helpful but eventually stopped being effective.
I started taking 2.5 mg Valium daily two months ago and have not had an episode of vertigo since.
I've been on them several times as I've had MD going on 15 years. They seemed to help at first, but the side effects were awful. Sweating, weight gain, irritability and difficulty sleeping. I've done the tympanic injection with prednisone several times, but I can't say that it really helped and you can only do so many a year as you risk perforating the ear drum. I do take a valium which seems to calm things down a bit. Good luck.
