Hi everyone
I am having difficulty in sleeping due to being in pain 24/7 which is due to a meniscal injury. Surgery is not an option.
I just wondered if anyone else was in the same position as myself and how they feal with this very painful condition.
Does anyone have flare ups of pain ?
Thanks in advance.
Sorry I ment to write deal not feal!
Interested to know why they can't operat and fix the problem. Ice as often as possible....talk to your primary care physician about the problem. There are so many pain meds and combination thereof something can give you some relief. In 4th e meantime use an anti inflammatory . I've had pretty good results with aleve. Rest as much as possible and be sure to hydrate. The body is over 60% Ayer and if that gets too far out of balance you will suffer
Hi lucy
I feel your pain I am in same position after a road traffic accident but with the added problem of osteoarthritis as well. They will not operate due to high risk of infection and will leave well alone for a while until the swelling goes down and the knee settles, but do not leave it too long as you will need to proactive with doctors theese days . As for the pain the usual rest, elevate cooling with an ice pack etc and if not all ready go and see GP for some anti-inflammatory drugs. and try walking with sticks as this will take a lot of the load of the knee. At night it will mean sleeping on your back so that you can place a pillow support under the affected knee so that it i slightly bent taking the pressure of the joint.
