Hi Ladies i am in peri meno, past 3 weeks i have been having some lower abdominal pains, i have 3 small fibroids which i was diagnosed with for over 15 years ago, it seems like evry year since i have been in perimenopause i get this lower abdominal pains, nausea, headaches, i have had ultrasound to see whats going on and my gynea always give me same results, the fibroids thats causing this, the problem is the pain is not there all the time, maybe about every six months it flares up, my smear test showed inflamation, and im due for another repeat next week. i have not had a period for 3 months, my body sometimes feels like i have a period coming but its nothing. im tired of seeing doctors as i get the same answer, its my hormones causing all this. past few days its also made my bp rise in the evening. im taking medication, my cholesterol has also elevated after a blood test, and im on medication and have changed my diet. it very depressing as im notsure when this will all sto, im 52 yrs old. been in peri since 43 yrs old. though my symptoms are not so bad as its not constant. any advise will be much appreciated regarding the fibroids and menopause. thanks.
My doctor I developed fibroids late. I’m 8 years post menopause and about once or twice a year I get twinges in my pelvic area. Doctor told me it was the fibroids shrinking. They dry up after menopause, right along with your ovaries. ![]()

It’s such a worry when it happens. I also have a small uterine fibroid, post menopause by 3 years and I get flare ups a couple of times in the year that can be painful. It causes me to feel a bit weak and worried. Gynae told me the pressure or the flare is due to them shrinking as they do post meno. I also want this experience over with. Take heart; let’s believe it will pass.
