Menopause and Throat/Ear Issues. Anyone

Hi Ladies; OK. I have been confirmed post-menopausal. Every-day is something new. I have had the: Shoulder pain Nausea Mood swings Ongoing Hot Flashes Heart Palpitations Bloating Now, the newest fun thing is my throat! I have had tonsil stones occasionally all my life. About 2 months ago I KNEW I had tonsil stones as I could "feel them" but could not see them. I also had like blisters (almost like pimples with white heads) in the back of my throat next to my tonsils and I had stabbing/intermittent ear and jaw pain that would come and quickly go. I went to the doctor, no strep but she put me on antibiotics. I checked my throat again a few days later and way deep in the crevices of my tonsils I must have popped out no less than 20 tonsil stones. Pretty gross. The bumps (pimples went away) and ear pain subsided. After about 10 days post antibiotics it was back again so back I go on a stronger antibiotic. My question is I am thinking I didn't need antibiotics at all as I know it does not help tonsil stones. Now I have this glass like feeling on the same side of my throat where the tonsil stones were (I THINK I got all those buggers) and my throat feels extremely dry. It does not HURT (persay) it just feels like it's a itchy sensation at the base of my throat and it actually makes it feel better (like scratching an itch on your back) when I eat anything like crackers or chips. I know the antibiotics are probably not helping with the dry throat but have any of you had this pokey, itchy dry feeling in your throat (one side) with menopause??? I don't really have a cough, I do not have trouble swallowing, it does not hurt to swallow, not running a fever, no lumps in my neck and my tonsils are not swollen nor are my lymph nodes so this leaves me thinking this is just another symptom of this thing we call menopause and nothing related to anything else. I can't help but think tho in the back of my mind that it's throat/thyroid cancer so I guess I am trying to ease my anxiety that this is something that you ladies have also experienced. Hugs ladies -

Hi Leisa,
Am experiencing the same type of symptom - last year had persistent sore throat on the right hand side and then now I have had ongoing swollen glands and sore throat on the left hand side!!! I had tests/investigations and nothing amiss was found but like you I still think of sinister things!! I know burning tongue syndrome can affect tongue as well as throat. A friend has recommended a homeopathic remedy - will let you know if I have any success.
