Menopause clinics?

Hello ladies,

By chance I was looking at the website of a GP surgery not in my local area and was surprised that amongst its various clinics it had a 'menopause clinic' and a 'weight loss' clinic - both of which I would benefit from . I find there are so many questions about menopause and find that I left my GP last time totally confused and with many, many questions to ask (it's certainly not the GPs fault, they are restricted in their time).

I just wonder if any of you lovely ladies have the benefit of a menopause clinic at your local surgery?

Have no idea. My gyno. told me weight loss was not part of menopause only weight gain, which is why I got all paranoid. Had a battery of tests done to find out nothing was wrong. To this day I feel as though I have some hidden cancer_, rare disease or parasite. However, I font have all the symptoms of them and was checked for osrssites in my stools earlier this year. Everything came back negative. I have leveled off with not losing too much more but trying to gain it back is nearly as impossible as people trying to lose the weight. Hate people saying. You look like you lost weight. You look great. I don't feel great about it. I feel like a different person. Not my happy go lucky self like I used to be.

I've been on HRT for 9 weeks and have lost 9lb! I've found that my anxiety attacks dampen my appetite and also give me a "funny tummy" (if you get my meaning!) so I'm not unduly worried. Isn't menopause an absolute pain, I hate it and can't believe I was so naive as to think it would just mean my periods ending and having hot flushes! What an idiot!

Ooooh, I wish!

My consultant Gynae. was a fat lot of good and refered me to my GP. My OH knows more about HRT than HE does!
