Menopause, migraines and HRT

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year to you all! I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I really hope that 2019 is a better year than 2018 in so many ways.

I have a question for those that suffer from migraines. Do any of you take HRT? I have read that women that suffer migraines should not do HRT but I am not confident in that source.

I used to only get a migraine about 2 days prior to my period arriving and this didn't start until my 40's (I'm 52 now).

Since I entered menopause 3 years ago, my migraines have worsened terribly. I now get them at least 4-5 times a month and they can last 24-72 hours. Miserable.

I've had an MRI and seen a neurologist to rule out any other brain issues.

I am convinced that my drop in estrogen kicked off my new migraine pattern.

I am looking for feedback from other migraineurs and their experience with HRT.

i always got menstrual migraines but after 5 months on the patch no headaches. only downside is ive gained 25lbs so im coming off it
