Menopause no symptoms

Hi all, I'm 48 and for the last say 2 years my periods have been almost non existent, I go around 6 months with nothing but then one day I will just have the tiniest bit of spotting. Last week I visited the GP and had a blood test which I have to wait a week for the results. The thing is I've had no symptoms of menopause ! Oh except for painful finger joints and back ache etc. So can this be menopause ? X

Hi peppa pig, I think you should wait for your blood work to come back first. Menopause is 12 months with no periods, but every woman is different. If it is menopause and you have no other symptoms consider yourself very lucky. I am going through a tough time with mine.

Peppa, you're in perimenopause. Menopause is considered 1 whole year without any bleeding. Like you I get a tiny period every 6 months. So I'm still in perimenopause with minor symptoms after a year of horrible ones.

Hello. I am 41 and have had just 4 periods in the last 20 months, biggest break between was 10 months. Consultant at hospital did scan to check all was well and there was no sinister reason y cycle had stopped. All well there so blood test which revealed high levels of the hormones you produce at menopause - feels too early, too young and I am noe considering whether to take HRT as the doctors recommend BUT I am reluctant cos I have no menopause symptoms apart from an achy back at night.... From speaking with other women I am aware that the menopause is a process that can take time...
