Menopause

Hi all. I've been going through the menopause for 7years now. This time I've gone 4 months with a period. On Friday I had a bright red spotting nothing else until the Saturday night this time it was bright red again then went brownish colour nothing else during the evening . Is there anything I should be worried about.

Do you mean you went 4 months WITHOUT a period? How old are you? If you are menopause age, then no, this is nothing to worry about. However, my doctor told me to call her if I missed 3 periods. So you should ask your doctor if you should let them know next time you miss periods.

Sorry yes gone 4 months without. I'm 47. .

47 seems young for menopause but not unheard of. I don't think skipping periods is anything to worry about but you should tell the doctor when you skip them just to be sure he/she doesn't want to check your hormone levels.

I had bloods done 4- 5 yrs ago and it showed up I'm half way through, they said as I was young having children this is why. 17 yrs.. Normally I'd miss a few weeks, 10 weeks is the longest. Think I'm only worried due to again this morning struggling again with a number 2 made me bleeped a bit. Now nothing. Finding that odd. Il make appointment tomorrow.

After I thought about it, I was actually maybe 48 when I started skipping periods as part of perimenopause. That went on for years until they finally stopped. But as I mentioned, if I skipped 3 in a row, the doctor would call in progesterone and that would make me start. When that didn't work and I went for one full year, she checked my hormones and said I was officially in menopause. But all that took several years. I was in meno by age 49. And I was 27 when I had my first child. And some periods can be very light and some very heavy during this time. So no, I think you don't need to worry at all. Seems normal. But it's always best to check with the doctor. Let us know how it goes OK?

Thankyou. And will do
