Morning all .I have been on Mertazapine for several months and the dose has been upped to 45gm today and I feel like hell ! anxiety has only been with me for the last year after a prolonged stay In Hospital.
Can I get some advice and reviews on this med .it helps for a while and then I get used to it and the docs increase the dose ....

Mirtazapine is most commonly used as an appetite stimulant for dogs and cats that are refusing to eat. It is also prescribed for the long-term treatment of various patients who are experiencing nausea, vomiting, and anorexia is very additive once you've started ....you should take something that stopps the effect ..for at least 2 weeks. lorazepam

I was in hospital and came out with anxiety not there before i went in. Taking mirtazapine but the increses just made me so much worse, down again to 7.5 as i cannot take the increased anxiety. Hoping psych can find something else. My heart goes out to you, ive been there and so have many others. Upping dose is not always the answer. Listen to your body.
