Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with hyperthryoidism about 1 mnth ago.
I was put on methimazole - 7.5 mg, once a day. After 12 days on the med i woke up with incredible pain from the tip of my toes to the top of my head. I was told to go off the med for 7 days and then see the doctor. I went to emergency the next day cause the pain was ncredible and i wanted to check my blood levels and have a chest x-ray. I don't experinence chest pains but had achy feelings in my chest and everywhere else. Blood tests came out perferect and chest x-ray looked good. A TSH test ws done and after 12 days my tsh had gone from 0.01 to 1.38. Is it normal for it to go up so quickly? My T4 was in normal range and T3 was high by 2 points at 6.4 instead of 4. My smptoms are for both hypo nd hyper - cold a lot of the time, lots of weight loss and not sleeping. I just want to be sure i'm being diagnosed correctly. The body pains stopped 3 days after stopping med. Also, has anyone experienced the same kind of pain??? Any info anyone could share would be appreciated. I see the Endo on Thursday to see what happens now.
