I know this seems odd I've been off methotrexate for 1 week & rhemy said I can start again but I've forgotten when I took last folic acid will this matter?

Hi, well the norm is to take folic acid the day after taking the methotrexate

I take my folic acid 7 days a week and the methotrexate 1 day a week. Don't think it will matter

It doesn't matter! It's best to take it every day except for the day you take the MXT.

You should take 5 mg folic acid on the non mtx days.

I was told to take one folic acid tablet the day after taking the methotrexate. However, I didn't get any folic acid in this months prescription.

The folic acid is very important. You must make sure you have enough and perhaps your pharmacist can help.

I'm now taking the folic acid everyday apart from mtx day. Although might miss mtx this week as gone down with my children's flu/ virus

They couldn't. Apparently the 'over the counter' stuff is no good. Has to be the prescribed stuff!

Yes, it has to be a prescription for folic acid

Yes I know they are different. Hopefully you can sort it out with your GP.
