I notice some of the posts about this are quite old. I am wondering if anyone has tried lipiflow and where did they get it. I have have had this condition for about 12 years.
Ive had dry eye etc for about 15 years but have managed to solve most of the problems with medication. I havent used Lipiflow as there seem to be varying degrees of success and its quite expensive ,about £400 per eye. Are you in UK? The NHS dont do it, but you may find a private hospital that has an ophthalmologist that does. Ask your GP to recommend one…thats probably the best option. I think Optical Express may do it as well but I’d rather get a GPs recommendation .
Try Googling Lipiflow near me and you should find some suggestions
Thank you Marina. I have read variable reviews about Optical Express. There is a specialist eye clinic in London that looks more reputable but they charge a lot more than Optical. I had a private consultation at Moorfields about 4 years ago and was given antibiotics and steroid eye drops, which didn’t seem to help. What sort of medication do you use?
I only use Simple eye ointment, prescribed by my doctor, at night…just a blob under the top lids, not the bottom, and then squash it over the eyeball. I usually dont need anything else during the day but if I am out and about I do wear close fitting polarised glasses…a bit like cycling glasses which have been my godsend.
I keep Carmize 1% single use phials on me for emergencies but rarely use them. I buy them at my local pharmacy or you can buy them online.
I had severe dry eye which turned into corneal ulcers so never expected to be better.
