Midriff Pain

I was diagnosed with a gall stone last year and have had only a couple 'attacks' with it and they have not been too severe. After this last one my midriff area feels sore inside and tender to touch. Is this normal? My doctor says she is not doing anything about it and to ' wait and see' plus she wants me to lose quite a bit of weight.

It's normal to have pain and tenderness after a gallstone attack.  xx

Since being diagnosed, have you been eating low fat foods? This usually helps to minimise the amount of attacks, and will also help with weight loss. Yes it’s normal for your stomach to feel tender after an attack xx

Thank you for your help.

Hi seek other advice, it’s your health at the end of the day. If this Doctor is doing nothing then my advice would be see someone else. Gallbladder problems and stones, need to be investigated and kept a close watch upon. I did have a sore stomach from the pain the Gaul stones caused me. Good luck 😉 Joanne

Ive had my gallstone for about 9 years but been putting the surgery off past couple of weeks been very ill with pain and swelling all over my stomach ended up at a and e on Monday was told the same thing nothing to do with gallstone until today when hospital phoned me me telling me I need emergency surgery cos my liver function is very low due to the gallstone

I'm always tender after an attack but sore all over since I tense up really badly.. Sticking to the diet they recommend really does help lose weight but try going out and walking to help out too.
