I am on 45mg of Mirtazapine. I had quite a lot to drink on Saturday night and I know the info on the leaflet says avoid alcohol. I had a terrible day today with really low self esteem and suicidal thoughts. Has anyone else had similar experiences. I guess the answer is not to drink alcohol whilst on this medication.
Hi, if you drink alcohol it will have a terrible impact on how you feel.
Whilst taking mirtazapine soft drinks are best
The alcohol prevents the drug from working plus increase how tired and nasty you feel
Keep on the pills, bin the booze.

ive been taking it for 3 weeks now and tried a couple of pints ,big mistake,Ive had some downers in my time but jeeeesus that ranked among the best (or worst even !)
thanks for telling me about what happens when you drink whilst taking mirtazapine, so I am not just imagining that the mirtazapine and alcohol do not mix at all well. That has confirmed my decision not to drink alcohol from now on, cheers (excuse lousy pun there) :D
