Just wondering if anybody else has developed rashes on there hands and feet after taking mirtazapine? Hundreds of little blisters filled with a milky white fluid all over my hands and feet. Doctors decided I was allergic to this medication and I was taken off. It has been almost 3 years and it has never completley gone away. Eating an EXTREMELY healthy diet helps keep it down but i was hoping this would go away. It covered my hands and feet so bad at its worst point that my doctor said he could pull my finger and toe nails off or just let them fall off because the were dead ... dry, discoloured , twisted and deformed things hanging off the end of my fingers and toes. I can see that rashes are a side effect. Any ideas what this did to me ?
Hi Lynden sounds like you had a bad allergic reaction to mirt and is taking quite some time to heal. sorry you had to experience that. your immune system just couldnt handle it.never try this med again is all i can say.good luck to you.Cat196111
Hi Lynden
That's a new one with regards to Mirt', I never heard that before ... I would be suprised if its the Mirt in mho ~ how long were you taking Mirt? Its not wise to "just stop" Mirt over night, depends if you had not been on it long
Wishing you well Lynden
This started shortly after I was put on mirtazapine. I actually enjoyed the medication, gained about 55 lbs in the 6 months I was on it which i needed. I was eating like i never ate before. I was sleeping great but this stuff happening to my hands and feet made my Dr take me off. Once i was taken off the meds my rash cleared up about 80%. I have had an extremely long history of bad reactions to any medication( penicillin & codeine, ect) and after a medical assesment Dr's say that i shouldnt try anymore anti depressants either. Thanks for the replys.
