I've been on mirtazipine for a year, I started off on 15 mg but most of the time 7.5mg because I found 15mg made me so angry! ( I'm not a angry person at all lol) anyhow the past week I've had insomnia normally I get a good night's sleep on mirtazipine anyone else experienced this? 😊
Yes this happened to me -dr said to up dose to 30mg but I decided not to and came off 15mg which I had been on for 2months -I went cold turkey with help of 1 or 2 temazepam and 2 mg valium to help sleep-now into the second week and feeling better some days than others. Dr said it was not addictive -but I think it must be as its so hard to come off. He said some of his patients are on 60mg. When my sleep pattern is better I will wean myself off temazepam using increased dosages of valium as this is what he said to do. Good luck.
I would love to come off mirtazapine I wish I never started on it! I'm thinking about going cold turkey. I've been to hell and back this week because a couple of weeks ago I got a different brand of mirtazapine and I got panic attacks and my anxiety was out of this world and was having crying spells, I tried another different brand this week ( because the one I normally have they have stopped doing it!) I'm doing better on this new brand of mirtazapine now but seems to not let me sleep properly! I was given diazapam this week too because of the side effects of the bad brand on mirtazipine....think I'm gon national go cold turkey from tomorrow and try sleep aid which I got from chemist. Do you think you can have herbal sleeping tablets while on mirtazipine?
Yes I also take Blackmore's Sleep Sound which helps.
