Mirtazapine

Has anyone had any experience with this medication? I'm on 15mg for 2 weeks, then 30mg after that..

Hi I am on matrazapine I came off citalapram whilst taking 30mg matrazapine, it took around 10 days until I became soley on 30 mg matrazapine, whilst I was on both together I felt so strange it was like I was in a blury cloud and I felt like I wasn't able to function. Once it was in my system I thought I would feel so much better, it has helped relax me a little and has helped reduce panic attacks through been anxious but not really helped with my mood, I have been back to the gp who has increased my dose to 45mg so I am now waiting to see how my mood goes.

Hi amy took mitazapine for 13 months didnt help much, one of the side effects is sn increase in appetite i gained 18 pounds on it .  Ps i now take prozac which i feel is more suitable for me      jeff

I spent 5 1/2 years on this evil medication. 6 months I spent taking it, as per GP's orders; I spent the remaining 5 years attempting to get off it. Crippling side effects included vivid dreams, weight gain, drowsiness, depersonalisation, inability to concentrate, restlessness and 'anger problems'.

I've often said to those in the services that one of my finest achievements - amongst many - was in getting off that medication and relying on other non-clinical tools to help me alleviate the feelings of stress and/or depression besides medication. I've also said that if I wasn't convinced I suffered from depression before the medication then I certainly was convinced whenever it began to circulate throughout my system.

It is, of course, subjective. I've never seen anybody benefit from long-term usage of medication. I've heard some do, however.
