I had a band fitted 3 days ago and while the pain is quite tolerable I am absolutely starving this is having a negative affect on my attitude and mood and at times I feel a bit of regret of having it done๐ can anyone tell me if this is normal and will it pass??
Are you able to drink a full cup a soup in one go? I can only manage a few small sips of a liquid before my gas pain comes back with a vengeance ๐ Xx
I am unfortunately lol only 2 more to do thank god! Lol
I'm just desperate to feel normal again, I'm the opposite lying down is best for me, I'm just concerned at how hungry I am n how much I'm thinking about food I didn't expect to feel like this. I've lost a stone since last Monday (inc pre op) but I feel pretty grim ๐ญnot sure I will make work tomorrow as planned. Even tho I gave a desk job it's the sitting that's killer!
My hubby has just bought me some anti wind medicine so I'm hopeful it will fix me up.
Wasn't expecting this emotional turmoil post op ๐ xx
I have no liquid in mine either it made me laugh today when my nurse rang to check on me and book me in for my first fill ๐ ....... Seriously last thing I was thinking about!! Lol
I think I may have to take a couple more days but I sm going a bit stir crazy at home alone all day (only so much Jeremy Kyle I can stand) ๐ x
I had mine done on Friday and I have bad wind that is trapped and so painful I am drinking water and becoming full ๐ my wounds are sore and getting up and down is hard how is everyone feeling xxx
Bleeuurgghhhh ...... That about sums it up lol . Can't remember how it felt to be normal anymore! ๐can't wait for normal to return! And I just can't wait to get off the liquid stage!! Lol...... I never did have much patience!! X
I had my gastric band fitted on Jan 13th. The first 2 weeks are the worst. You can't sleep lying down, moving can be painful and the wind is a pain.
However, nearly 3 months on and I'm up for my second band fill and the memories of the first few weeks post Op are like a distant memory.
This is the BEST decision I've ever made. Nearly 3 stone lighter and feeling healthier than I ever have, yes sometimes I feel like I could woof down a packet of chocolate biscuits and feel sad that I can't do that any more, but to be honest, those feelings a few and far between.
I can breathe better at night, have stopped snoring and can run up a flight of stairs which are benifits I'd rather not give up for biscuits.
Yes, it's tough at times, but keep going, dont give up, you CAN do this and it gets better with tine.
We all felt like this at first and you're not alone. We are all here if and when you need us.
Good luck with your journey and no doubt we'll be hearing how well you're doing in the coming months. ๐๐๐๐๐
Thank you for your reply Joanna it had perfect timing and really was just what I needed to read ๐. Was just close to tears really fed up with myself.
After reading that I was forced to remember why I made this choice ๐
Thats a lovely message Joanne ๐ I am feeling a bit better today I just can't sleep and feel moody and bored ๐ I can't wait to feel better I'm not bothered about the food just feeling myself x
