Missing ovary, what's the odds of having children ?

Hi all, I'm stacey I'm 27

I was operated 2 years ago to have my right ovary and 11x10x10cm dermoid cyst removed... I've recently been having problems with my anxiety and depression... I'm really starting to panic at the fact I won't be able to have kids... it's getting to the point I'm crying a lot more and having no motivation... any comments and any advice would be appreciated xxx

It's in God hands !!!! A couple years back I had my right ovary and a tumor removed !!!!!! I was also worried that I wouldn't be able to have kids !!!!! I have a daughter who will be 2 this year !!!!!!! As long as you have one functional ovary you have a chance !!!!!!! Also there's medicine and technology if ever needed

Hi Stacey,

Don't worry, your other ovary can easily provide enough eggs for you to have children.

It's a bit like your kidneys, you have two, but only need one to do the job it was intended for.

Stop worrying and enjoy your life while you are young.

Are you sure ? I'm such a mess literally everyone around me is pregnant and there is little old me still nothing ! Just it's a worry because I'm not getting any younger just panic you know 😢 My anxiety doesn't help because every niggle of pain I get I worry it's another cyst 😣😣😣 thank you for your reply tho Laura xxx

Hmmm I guess it's just a worry because of age and wanting to have children so much and just everyone around me is pregnant maybe it's just jealousy ... xxx

Even if you had another cyst, nowadays you would be able to have your eggs frozen to be used at a later date, at your age, this would be an option. But your remaining ovary will be still ovulating, so no reason why you should worry. Also worry and stress maks it harder to conceive.
