Moderate pain around belly button for months now.

For about 6 months now I've had moderate pain around my belly button (so it's in the middle, but sometimes it'll move very slightly to the left, and the pain is usually a 5 out of 10 for pain) and I'm not sure what to do. If I had to describe the pain it feels like a really heavy period pain but in around our belly button instead of right at the bottom of your belly. It's a killer to deal with. Yesterday afternoon it was especially bad, a 7-8 out of 10 for pain, I was in the verge of tears.

My doctor has given me Omeprazole and Buscopan and neither seem to be doing the trick. He doesn't know what it is and doesn't know what else to do, so he referred me to a specialist a few months ago, but the NHS are so slow I haven't even got a letter for an appointment date. Nothing seems to trigger it in particular, not any certain food at least. I've tried gluten free and that hasn't done anything. I've tried being lactose free too, no fix there either.

It's not getting better and it's really annoying. The days where my stomach doesn't hurt are blissful, but I just wish I knew what was wrong with me. Please, someone give me advice, or maybe you might know what it is, who knows. I just want possible answers.

Sounds like IBS.  Omeprazole will help heartburn but not stomach pain.  It may in fact be disagreeing with you.  Try Nurofen along with Buscopan; this combination helps my IBS.  You may have to try several medications.  Consider a food diary. IBS pain can feel lkie period cramps.  I would consider going private to get tests and a diagnosis.  Have you had any recent stress at all?

Yeah I'm a very stressed teenager. I can't think of the last day I had when I wasn't stressed. idk if my parents will let me get private tests though...

I would explain to your parents that you are in too much pain and worry to wait for your NHS appointment to come through.  I had three and a half months of panic before being diagnosed with IBS.  I was too anxious to wait a month for my NHS ultrasound so my dad booked me a private one which showed nothing.

You could always go back to your doctor and and ask for the NHS appointment to be put forward.  My doctor gave me this option if my pain got worse.  My pain didn't get worse although it was constant.  My psnic and anxiety, however, went through the roof.
