Momentary dizzy sensation when turning head - Anyone else??

Hello, I have been experiencing this on and off for a few months. Basically, someimes when i turn my head left or right, I get a momentary dizzy sensation, almost as if it is coming from the base of my neck/top of my spine. If I am sitting for an extended period of time, and then move, it is a little stronger. The sensation is very brief, less than a second, and usually goes away. Sometimes, however, it seems to happen everytime I turn my head.

I very much it has to do with tension in my shoulder and neck, which I am working on, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced these sensations, and if there is a name for it. Thanks!!

Sounds like BPPV.  Benign proximal positional vertigo.  Crystals dislodged in your ear.  Is pretty easily resolved with the eply maneuver

I too have the same thing. Just diagnosed with Vertigo BPPV three weeks ago and feel unbalanced. Calling my doctor in the morning.

I agree! Sounds like BPPV. Your dr. can do the Epley maneuver on you, and show you how to do it yourself if it happens again. There are also videos online that show how to do it. There are also other maneuvers if the Epley doesn't work - the crystals can be in different locations.

You may be experiencing what is know as Vestibular Paroxysmia, or neurovascular compression of the eighth cranial nerve.  Have you seen a physician concerning this yet?
