Mom had a partial hip replacement18 December. she is well but is walking with a limp on her oppisite side to the hip that was broken. is this normal?
Hi Different people heal at different speeds
Is she using a stick or crutch?
If she is still limping she should use a stick or crutch whichever is easier on the opposite side to the limp
Also check it out with the doctor

hi Colette
sorry to hear your mum as a limp.im 4 weeks post op and before surgery I was told I may end up with my operated leg longer than the other which will cause a limp so a block of sorts would have to be made for my shoe so both legs are even. I walk with a limp and can't stand straight maybe your mum as the same problem
all the best
I am 7 weeks post o p THR. Before surgery my operated leg was almost one inch shorter than the other. Now, after surgery, i believe the other leg is slightly shorter. SOmetimes, i walk with a limp. However, i did notice when i "hurt" or "ache" a bit, i will use cane to help with the limp and my limping improves. Also, My posture really makes a difference. If i concentrate and really "tune in" to my walking, my limp goes away completely. i have been told that my hip needs to settle and perhaps this slight difference will go away. if not, well, then i will just live with it.
