Morcellator Myomectomy in 2013...

Had this done and went well with no complication, v. large 3 lb. fibroid and smaller fibroids removed.  Asked for uterine preservation for fertility with ART done no success twelve times.  Bleeding is very, very heavy at day 27-30 and watery.  Is getting screened for cancer a good idea?  Or would be it be evident by now with two year long ultrasounds to assess uterine lining for fertility treatments.  Did they biopsy the tumors at that time as standard procedure?  The FDA banning morcellators has me worried.  I also have an autoimmune disorder.  Thanks.  =)

Hi samantha 94068,

The consultant would have sent the morcellated tissue to pathology and you would have received the results back in 2013 if there had been any cancerous tissue.  If your uterus lining has continously been checked for the last 2 years for fertillity then any problems would have been told to you at the time especially if they used a transvaginal ultrasound.

Hi Samantha,

I had the same procedure in 2013. The tissue was sent to pathology and I remember the consultant telling me the results were clear. It is standard procedure to do this and I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.
