more problems??

Hi All,

Havent felt well as I said before ,shortness of breath & rapid pulse rate ,so went to see my G.P. on friday, she referred me to the M.A.U.in our hospital, due to my past blood clots, where they did all sorts of tests, chest xray, e.c.g ,checked for chest infection , water infection etc.

Anyway nothing untoward found, but no reason why I should have been breathless.

The hospital stopped my 1.25 bisoprolol, thinking it may be causing my fatigue, though I know its the P.M.R.

Anyway on Monday I still felt rough, so while at the surgery for my husbands blood tests, I managed to speak with my G.P. bless her she called me into her office & checked me over again.

She thought the lack of bisoprolol for 3 days may have caused the rapid pulse etc.so told me to take it again.

Also said to up my steroid dose .

So took 25mg today.

Will carry on with this dosage for at least 2 weeks maybe a month.

Then a VERY slow drop, by half or one mg.each time.

As you can guess I am very down & tearful, sympathise with you all if you too are feeling like me at the mo'

Thanks for taking the time to read my message.

A sad Amycakes today.

Oh, Amycakes, poor you and you were doing so well.

It's reassuring to know that you've had all the necessary tests and they have all come back clear, plus you doctor sounds very caring so you're obviously in good hands.

Chin up and hope you start feeling better tomorrow back on the bisoprolol.

MrsO

Oh Amycakes - big virtual hugs! :cuddle: It is such a downer when everything seems to be against you - but let's look at the good bits: what a lovely GP you must have! And you have been really well checked out - did you have stay in the MAU? If so, that's enough to make you feel seriously knackered!!!!

Like the sound of the reducing programme - sounds as if she realises PMR is a law unto itself.

All the best - if it's any consolation I had a stinking Monday today  but at least I don't feel ill with it - just had steam coming out the ears this morning :steam: and it didn't get much better. If I wanted to get it today it wasn't available here

Eileen

Oh Amycakes

You have been having a lot of problems The only good thing is people are treating you seriously and you are being well looked after

As Mrs K says PMR comes when it wants and goes when it wants so hopefully if yours will just go into remission as such you will be able to make some meaningful reductions as when you are on the lower dose of steroids you will feel better generally

Really hope things settle down and you start to feel better soon

Best wishes

Mrs G

Thank you all for your kind concerns, made me cry.

Yes I did get the best care & my G,P is lovely, I can talk to her easily.

I know I have only been diagnosed a short time compared to a lot of you , I have struggled a bit, I read your messages, & sympathise with all of you who have had such a hard time with this condition.

Your experiences have helped me though & I am so grateful.

My G.P. has said if the breathlesness hasnt improved by the end of this week, she will refer me to the chest clinic, so hoping things will get better soon.

Thank you all again for being there for me, I feel like someone out there really understands.

Take care of yourselves

Amycakes,[ feeling a little bit better.]

Amycakes, I feel for you. I cannot remember whether you are on Alendronic acid or any other bisphosphonates. Your rapid pulse and breathlessness does sound very like my reaction to AA but, of course, can be anything or nothing.

If you have a lot of pain it can be very dispiriting as I have found today though I know that mine is caused by overdoing things because I had been feeling better.

It sounds as though you have a lovely GP. Look after her; they are gold dust. Just to be treated as a real person and not just a medical problem is the difference between hope and despair.

I rang our surgery today to say I could not keep my appointment tomorrow as I was in so much pain. Long pause. \" But your appointment is for NEXT Tuesday so don't worry\".

I felt such an idiot but the receptionist just laughed and said it was all these Bank Holidays that muddled people up which was kind and made me feel less of a silly old bat!!

Remember, don't fret on your own; we are all here.

:sheep: :sheep: :sheep: Here's to a good sleep for everyone.

BettyE

Sorry you are in so much pain. I have probably missed the reason - is it the PMR or something else?

Beev

Amycakes I was so sorry to read this but pleased you have been feeling a little better....... sending virtual hugs and hope you continue to feel good...

Betty E I am also sorry to hear you are in pain........is it your leg? Virtual hugs for you too......

No, not PMR, a second pulled back muscle just as I was celebrating ( too soon! ) that the original one had gone.

Were repotting very large camellias. Yesterday, kind neighbours came and finished it for me and someone sang an old song \" He holds the lantern while his mother chops the wood \" which was just about the extent of my contribution. Loved it. Just stood by giving directions.

Don't ask for the rest of the song; I think it's quite rude.

Thanks BettE, & no I was'nt on A.A. I stopped taking it sometime ago, but the doc at the hospital says I really should take it, so have only just started taking it again last sunday.

Though wondering if I should take it ,after reading all the bad things about it.I cannot say I felt anything different when I took them before.

Feeling much better & able to function now.breathlesness not nearly as bad , & the bisoprolol I am sure has helped with the rapid pulsebeat.

I think the drop was too much & it was probably withdrawal symptoms. I am learning all about this condition every day.

Hope all your pains will sail away into the sunset.

Take care my friends.

Amycakes.

Amycakes - that's such good news and I hope you have many more good days now. Take care :ok: :rose:

MrsO
