Well it seems that i now have carpal tunnel syndrome, aswell as everything else!! apparently all my years of knitting didn't help, but the main cause is my hypothyoidism, and my OA, god what a life!! I have no family nearby, and all my friends have active lifestyles so I don't want to bother them, they remember me as I used to be * the life and soul* now the life if screwed the soul is too, and may i say this carpal thing is really painful, it took me a good hour this morning before i could type, it's really painful, so day surgery here I come, on top of all this i need a lot of teeth fixing, but untill I get my 2nd op. date I can't start with that, so I'm a mess, but i'm sure there are others worse off,sorry to moan, but you guys on here are they only people who will understand, thanks for being there.
Hi Lynne, why don't you get your teeth fixed, they alone could cause infection in your hip operation (dental specialist told me to do this) as for the carpel tunnel this is usually done on a day patient basis so shouldn't inconvenience your hip op.
As for your friends if they are true friends they will help you out love, if not sell up and move to Norfolk plenty of nice people here to help you
That's what we are here for , for you to have a moan at, as for c.t.s, is your doctor referring you? I don't have c.t.sbut I do get cramp in my left thumb from cross stitching so I can understand the pain xx
One thing I have learned is that friends can and do help. Remember it will be easier for them to ask for your help if they need it if you have already been on the receiving end. They are waiting for you to ask. I am sure you would not hesitate to step in if they needed your help so give them the credit for being willing to do the same.
When I started living on my own it was a huge learning curve to find this out but it really builds closer and better friends.
thanks for all your input, I have been waiting to get my teeth done because I thought if I get started with it I just know I'll get my opp. appt. then what do i do? I started a course of dental treatment in Oct last year, and he told me I need to see a gum specialist, but he cleaned and xrayed me then gave me a list of appts. then 3 weeks later I got my hip op. date, so I had to cancel mid treatment, I just don't want to do the same thing again, it's like the chicken and the egg syndrome.
Hi Lynne ... I am sorry to hear this ... a bit overwhelmed, it seems and no wonder -cts is painful .... I never had it but did have tendonitis in elbow because of knitting ...
got cortisone shot that made it worse and ended up having acupuncture and it was gone after 2 treatments ... an then the teeth - I also need major dental work done - I had tooth pulled, or root pieces or something terrible and had to wait with THR surgery for at least a month to make sure that there were no infections ... so if you have infections now, better take care of it -if not than wait - I was hoping to get to my detnal work after R THR but have to postpone because of other hip surgery ..
I live alone and found it very hard to ask for help - but I had to and it is true, they love to help me out - but I have to ask and that is still difficult .. I have one close girlfriend who lives in Los Angeles, who once told me thT I was a bad girlfriend because I didn't give her a chance to help me - something to think about -

I will go see my dentist on monday,I don't think i have an infection, just gum shrinkage due to Periodontitis, my teeth are loose but not that loose that they are faallig out, but each day it will deteriorate, like you I'm between a rock and hard place, as I want my teeth done, which means I have to hold on my new hip, and the pain of my hip v the teeth , the hip wins everytime, but i know I need all new veneers and crowns, in fact the whole enchillada!!!
Good morning Lynne ... I didn;t realize that you don't have THR date yet ... you probably have ample time to get some, if not all, of your dental work done ... You can always stop treatment when you know the date --- just in case ..
