Hi All - I'm going on vacation with my extended family next week and everyone is going on a four hour boat trip together. I have always been prone to motion sickness, but it's worse since my Meniere's diagnosis.
Any ideas on what I can take to prevent sickness? I did a trial of the Transderm-Scop Patch, but I ended up feeling quite dizzy and a bit drugged. I'm thinking of a Bonine/Lorazepam combo?
Thank you!!
Get some ginger capsules, 550mg. No drowsiness. I take 1 or 2 pills with food one hour before boarding. An antacid will help if you get indigestion. Read up online for other medicine interactions.
I usually have to start a dose of dramamine even before I leave. It doesn't always take it away completely but it helps. I take hctc every day also.
Have you tried meclizine? It is over the counter and is commonly given for both motion sickness and Ménière’s.
Yes I have but it didn't work for me once an attack started. Since then I have had surgery and found CBD and don't need it.
