Mouth to genitals to mouth - is it HSV1?

I am a woman in an open marriage and we are both bi so we date people of the same sex. My husband recently caught what we are convinced is herpes (a line of blister-like sores all around his ass crack on both sides) from a sexual encounter with a guy. They just did oral including around his anus.

After the outbreak he messaged the guy who didn’t seem super surprised and said “oh, yeah I get cold sores” but he did seem surprised that it had spread to the ass.

As me and my husband are quite sexually active and we had a lot of unprotected sex including oral the days before noticing the outbreak I felt as if it is bound to come to me and we waited…

…So, five days after the initial outbreak on my husband’s ass, I get one perfect blister just below my mouth which appears like textbook herpes and the doctor agreed it is most likely to be so. I have never had a cold sore before so it makes sense that this is it. Also neither of us had any fever or flu like symptoms.

So my question is…

Is this normal? Mouth to ass to mouth? And does this mean it is most likely to be HSV1? My husband did not get the blisters tested due to a ■■■■ up at the doctors.

So, is this it for me? Am I still at risk from genital herpes or will it stay on my face? I feel like I may have got off lightly, as my husband had a horrible time with the pain. All in all, very confused!

And as I keep saying to my husband, there is no shame. We are sex positive, we knew the risks and would you feel this guilty and shameful if he got a bad flu from a hook up or anything non genital. So to anyone reading this please don’t blame yourself if you get herpes, stay positive and shame free x
