Mouth ulcer

I have developed an ulcer at the back of my mouth out of nowhere. It has been 2 months & it is still there. I’ve been to the dr twice but haven’t received much help. They both said that it takes a long time to heal.

Has anybody else had this problem and if so what can be done about it?  It is very painful.

Really large ulcers are called apthas ulcers and I’ve had a few at the back of my mouth and they’ve lasted for weeks. They’ve even made my ear hurt, it hurt to swallow, eat and speak. Gargle with salt water about 3 times a day. For pain relief gargle with soluble paracetamol. I think more vit c and zinc is good for prevention. I used to get them if I was run down. My glands in my neck would also flare up. Obviously if it still won’t go return to your doctor. Some of mine were about the size of a 10p. Very painful and makes you feel miserable. Try the gargling, good luck.

Thank you so much!

I’ve been so worried about this. I return to the doctor in 2 weeks and would really like some positive progress or a biopsy will be done. I’ll try your suggestions.

Let me know if they improve, I’m sure they will.
