mri of the head

Hi

I've been having strange symptoms in my head for 12 months and after numerous tests and scans my gp says its all normal.

I've now got copies of my mri results and just wondered if anyone knows what this means

Conclusion

There is early frontal atrophy

If someone could tell me what that means that would be great

I think if there is any comment/note on your scan images then a doctor needs to explain it to you.

I'm surprised you weren't given a follow up appointment to discuss it.

i think either your GP or the hospital doctor you saw should talk you through the scan and any notes.

Thanks for your response.

I am seriously considering paying privately, as I'm convinced this doctor thinks I'm making things up. Its really wearing me down.

Thanks once again for your reply

If you look up BUPA online you can get a GP appointment without a referral. You can book 15 or 30 minute appointment. I'd booked a 30 min appointment but tad to cancel as my headaches got so bad I was admitted to hospital. Nothing got done there and it took a private appointment at a chiropractor to discover the cause of headaches, but she treated the problem effectively.

good luck and let us know how you get on.

I don't know what it is but I would suggest that you go to your doctor and ask for the results to be explained to you in terms that you understand.

I had an MRI scan recently and looked in medical books to see what some of the medical terms meant and I got totally confused.  Save yourself the time and go straight to someone that knows and can explain it to you.

ASk your GP.
