I received my MRI report today from my Urologist stating ' In two areas there are suspicions and cancer why we should conduct a new tissue sampling'. I wonder what is he implying? If someone can tell me what does it mean and what should I do at this stage?
He is probably telling you a biopsy is necessary. I would be giving him a call for more discussion. I would think he or someone from his office would have already contacted you for discussion.
Yes I think so too. I have asked about that but as he is not available the nurses said you can talk to him the same day the biopsy will be done. Thanks for your reply Roger2Dodger
You need to speak with the Dr PRIOR to the biopsy. If the Dr doesn't have the time to explain AND answer your questions it is time for ANOTHER Dr.
Even though a biopsy is routine, there are possible risks involved that minimally should be discussed.
I understand. But that's not always possible. What they do here is they discuss on the same day prior to the biopsy and ask patients concent. Yes, I am going to talk to him and find out what all I need to know. Thanks a lot richard98806 for your feedback.
Is the radiologist a specialist in reading prostate scans?
If not, then find someone who is. Take the scan to be read by an expert.
An expert is someone who focuses on reading prostates and is not one who reads all types of scans.
An expert will save you time. If there is definitively NO PCa, he will let you know.
If there is a suspicion of PCa, he will let you know the degree of suspicion.
