MRI results, disc degeneration

So my results are in for my recent MRI, which came back with degeneration throughout my thoracic and lumbar spine however with no disc height loss. Also a compression on my l5s1 nerve root, which is funny as I don't suffer from sciatica or anything of that nature.

I am yet to see my consultant to discuss the results but my Dr thinks the scan is a pretty good MRI and that the degeneration wont be giving me my symptoms throughout my thoracic. I have just read an article suggesting there is no corrolation between pain and the level of degeneration. What are people's thoughts. I am a 29 year old male.

What is your history? Why did you have the MRI?

but youre still a baby!sorry-just gut reaction,i took notice of your post because im having back problems too,but im close to 70-too darn close.id just like to wish you well, and im sorry youre having problems, wish i could help xxx

Hi antig. I have had chronic pain for 3 years coming in flare ups across my thoracic spine. Symptoms from intense morning stiffness to radiating heat like pain radiating out to the left and right from my spine.

I have seen numerous physios, alignment specialists with no improvements. My original MRI shown no nerve compression and unremarkable. There for a second MRI was booked in to see if there was any changes in the year.

Hello, I am 63 and a half. I have a slipped disc and a spinal fracture. I think they go hand-in-hand once you slip your disc the fluid comes out and that's the spinal fracture. People don't understand why I can't stand up straight but usually they don't ask. My heart goes out to anyone with back problems.
