Please advise if MRI (CE-MRI) would show a tapeworm? In particular, abdominal and neck scan. Also, what would the treatment be if it’s been over 7 years?
In theory , yes it should show. Is that what your consultant is looking for?
What is your health problem?
Some gastrointestinal issues after exposure to raw fish, and recently also constant coughing. The problem is that parasite eggs analysis comes up negative. When I’ve tried Biltricide it’s been some years, and it didn’t work. I wonder if there is some surgical treatment available, or anything else?
Have you had an endoscopy?
Actually yes, when it first started. Might have another, does it show the small intestine?
You seem convinced your problems are due to parasitic worms but there is no evidence so far. How long has this been going on? There can be other causes of upset digestive tract and coughing.
Well, it’s been some years with a variety of symptoms, all of which together might likely point to parasites (I know, doesn’t sound very trustworthy without the egg analysis)… I’ve been excluding other possible reasons, been to different consultants.
Anyway, thank you for your input, appreciated. I’m a bit at my wits end, it feels like there is some thing in my throat, not cold or cancer related, and there is little relevant info… Been to a neurologist as well by the way, no issues of that kind.
Could you be coughing because of a post nasal drip? Have you seen an ENT specialist?
Do you have acid reflux?
