so for the past 3(ish) months I have been having white stringy mucus in my stool on and off. Not sure if it is there with every movement or just i dont notice it with every movement. I do not think that I have any other symptoms really. Possibly some pain in left abdomen near lowest 2 ribs but its difficult to say whether it's actually there or whether my constant worrying is making me find things. I cant seem to nail down any dietary affects or any patterns of eating and presence of mucus. I sometimes go more than usual, and sometimes it feels like I need to go but I dont. have been particularly gassy also. I have been requested to come in for a routine blood test and to provide a stool sample. unfortunately i wasnt able to talk to the doctor in person, so I didnt get to ask what the tests are for. has anyone else ever had these symptoms? I'm quite anxious and did the worst thing which is googling so now I'm convinced I have bowel cancer or something serious. if anyone can give me any information that might just put my mind at ease a little until I go in for tests and get results I would be very grateful. a picture can be provided if helpful. for background, I am 28 male, never had any serious health concerns. always been a frequent bowel movement kind of person averaging 3-5 per day. I was overweight but lost alot this year.
anyone?
