Multiple regular ulcers on the tongue

Hi, hoping someone can help.

I am a caucasian male in my late 30’s and for a few years now I have bouts of multiple (10+) ulcers appearing on the underside of my tongue that last about 7-10 days.

I have had blood tests, with no significant discrepancies and the Doctor’s just don’t know what it is. I take extra vitamin C and iron and generally have a healthy diet (vegetarian). I ‘feel’ them coming for a few days beforehand and tend to try and relax a little, early nights etc. but it makes no difference.

This is really impacting my life now; I cannot really speak at the peak of these attacks and the pain in extreme. It feels like someone has cut my tongue with a knife and lots of pins are in my tongue, it is excruciating.

All sorts is going through my head too; cancer, STI, allergy?

Update on this; 40 ulcers in total. Doctor has prescribed me Co codamol, tetracycline and betamethasone.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?
