hi my son had surgery on his clavicle ,he broke in a rugby match,so they put a plate in , this was june of 2013, he went bk playing rugby in seotember, he had physio after surgery to get his movement back, which he was very quick at responding with his movements, he has had no trouble till about march of this year,hes had an xray plates ok, had a ultra sound muscles intact but yet in march he had really bad pain ,he said it felt like someone dragging his arm down ,he was reffered to physio by the time we got this, the pain had gone, but some times ache after a match,the physio, his confused has he has a great deal of muscle wastage in the back of his shoulder and shoulder blade, she says his deltoids are massavie, and she carnt understand, why he has so much muscle wastage, without being in constant pain ,any help plz has he his a keen rugby player plays in a premiership league u15s and as gcse pe comin up, ,hes not in pain and enjoying his rugby and as got back to his normal tackling, and i dont want him to relaps as he his being watched by scouts Thanx
After surgery muscles tend to be lost. It takes time PT AND PATIENCE.
Muscles and tendon strength will return in time. I had the same concerns as following thru with exercise and PT will show improvement .
