My 15yr old son, Has Mono for the 2x time but very different?

2 yrs. ago my son had mono, he was very sick for about a month, for the first 2weeks we didn't know what it was, the office test was negative 2x, finally they sent it to the lab, which showed positive, but also he had CMV which is another virus like mono. He did get better and had a good year. This summer in August he started having stomach problems, it would just come and go, he has pain in his lower stomach and would have diarrhea, finally after about a month of this and after school started we made a doctor appointment, they did blood work also scan his stomach area, the only thing that came back positive was the mono reactivated, which made us think back, he had been very fatigue all summer! NOTE, he is a wrestler and works out 6 days a week. So I didn't think much of him getting some extra sleep since its was summer break. some I'm thinking he had mono all summer and kept pushing on, so my question to the doctors has been, did the MONO cause the stomach problems???? The past two month has been so hard for him, and very hard as parents to watch him not feel well. We do have an appointment with a Digestive Specialists at the end of October. Just looking to see if anyone has experienced anything like this. Thanks and saying my prayers for our son.

I don't ever recall having Mono as a younger person However as an adult at 44 yrs old I was told I was Positive for  EBV  Epstein Barr Virus which comes from having Mono You will always have the titers in your blood that show you once had it What they (doctors) don't explain is any virus stemming from having Mono will not only stay in your system It can become very active again They won't test for it Usually you have to ask Contrary to popular belief These viruses stemming from Mono that actual re activate is more common that they tell you So many people suffer with EBV Feeling sick tired symptoms like your son with no help My daughter at 12 also ended up with EBV and had to have a teacher come to our home to keep up with her studies She ended up with Lupas at 14 She was gtting sick every other week Good news for her She's a doctor now herself I still have long periods of dealing with what feels like the flu Along with symptom like your son I'm not giving up I wish your son all the luck and wellness in the world
