My 17 year old daughter started with major digestive issue mid Nov. And still no diagnosis

Hello! I am the mom of a 17 year old female. She has been suffering from abdominal issues since mid November 2015.

We are truly at wits end what she has, if it can be treated, and how to manage it. She is a healthy teenager who's life took a complete turn. She can deal with it but we don't have a clue what it is. It started with severe pain right under her rib cage. The pain was so intense that she would throw up. This was always after eating. For 2 weeks we toyed with her diet and tried all obvious solutions. Nothing, so went right to her GP. So her Dr went into full combat mode. All the tests came out squeaky clean. So she sent us to a GI specialist. He has ran every test he can for her and again nothing. They are starting to repeat tests now even though there was not one red flag warranting it. The only test that stayed consistent was her creative-protein test. This is positive for some type of inflammation somewhere in her body but cannot pinpoint it. So currently, she is on ondanseatron and omeprazole. It has cut out 20% of her symptoms. They did start her on an antidepressant that she use be on but hasn't helped her stomach issues but has helped mentally adjusting to this chronic situation. Our GI said that a couple more tests and he will have to send us up even farther on the specialist ladder-which should be anytime now.

The only change in her life at the time was I believe she was stressed but she says absolutely not. And she has had significant weight can over a 3 year range. During that time she went on the pill. Her body definitely reacted to the hormonal change and her appetite became ferocious. So over a year ago she went off anything with hormones in it. But unfortunately her weight remained the same. And get this. She has only lost a couple pounds during this. Maybe her body is in Survival mode or its relative.

I am open for for any idea that we have not tried hoping they missed something. We feel so in limbo-is it good to not find anything or when they do it will be life changing. Please advise!!!!!!

The only thing that rings a bell withme is gallstones or inflamed gall bladder,

My daughter in law had these symptoms and she had gall stones,

Her pain went through to her back and shoulder though, sorry that is all i can think of, hope she gets some answers soon

l have to agree in bouts of severe debilitating pain in that area could be caused by an inflamaed gall bladder along with digestive problems, but would have thought theyd have done an xray, scan, for that. l had that intense pain attacks, l think the inflamed gall bladder showed up on an xray or scan, but they also did a scope, before removing the gall bladder, and l,d not stones, just inflammation, chocylitus. l hope your next lot of tests show up the problem.

Thank you for trying! Out of all the possibilities. We are thinking of redoing her gall bladder function test to see if the percentage is dropping.  We really thought it was her gall bladder but at the time the numbers and the MRI with the dye showed nothing. 

On Friday she had a colonoscopy  because they saw two tests that complemented each for Ulcerative Colitis. After, He said there was no evidence of UC or Crohns. He did snip 2 benign tiny polyps off and took some other biopsies to see if they could magnify the cells maybe something is brewing. So far nothing. We r so frustrated!

Gallstones and an inflamed gallbladder...

A good friend and colleague of mine is going through the exact same symptoms right now. She was diagnosed with the above and has been on medication to stop the inflammation as they cannot operate with inflammation in body.

Then they find out that she also has a little ulcer in the stomach, so her problem is twofold...
