my anxiety flares up more when im at home

Does anyone have the problem like I have. My anxiety seems to flare up more when I'm at home. When I leave to go somewhere or so another persons home I seem to be better. I have not always been this way just here recently and it seems very weird. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue

It is distraction. When I am focusing on other things and not how I am feeling I always feel better.

Yes. I also have a phobia about being at home with my kids by myself at night while my hubby is at work. I just don't like being by myself. I know that may seem weird to done but if its to quiet I start pannicing

When I was younger I was uncomfortable being home alone especially when my husband was overseas I military. I used to sleep with tv on.

I have 3 children who are at home with me so you think that would not happen but it does. I do my best to control it so that they don't see it and get scared though. I keep my self busy as much as I can.

Anxiety doesn't always make any sense.

No it does not..

I'm the same way. My job is a trigger also.

My first anxiety attack was at work.

I definitely relate to that.. I think for me it had to do with not being as able to take my mind off it.. I think about it more and when I'm out and about I can focus my attention and energy on other things.. If I feel like im about yo have a panic attack or my anxiety is getting worse I truth to do something yo take my mind of of it.. I like to crochet so I pick up whatever project I'm working on and get busy..I start using my breathing exercises the moment it starts along with redirecting myself and it usually eases up.. it's simple.. take a slow deep breath through your nose and blow it slowly out of your mouth.. repeat several Times and when you feel your heart rate decrease continue to take slow breaths only through your nose and breath out.. this is really the only thing I have found that helps me when I get this way.. you have to find a way to take your mind off of focusing on it.. try and make positive thoughts about being at home.. what do you enjoy most when your there? Do you have something you enjoy doing, reading.. puzzles.. writing/drawing.. working outside or anything? If not I would recommend finding something that you could learn and just dive in..also I find that the responsibility of being home gives me anxiety..sounds weird but for me knowing there is a pile of dishes or floors that need cleaned or a room full of laundry is enough to send me in full panic mode..especially with my two kids trying to keep the house in Order and neat is difficult so I would say for me that's probably why mine gets worse at home.. and having the free time to think dose not help.. so I have really taken to crocheting and I am able to create something beautiful and it makes me happy.. hope you are able to finfisome relief

I like to paint, draw, read etc. I also do the breathing exercises. I find going fir a walk can help too.

I love walking and being outside. My weight doesn't show it though but I do. I am trying different things to try and keep my self occupied

I can totally relate to this. I think when we are out we are distracted by various things and also focused.

I find that its when I am more relaxed (being at home, just about to go to sleep etc.) that my anxiety attacks tend to make an appearance - maybe because we have been storing up all of the adrenaline or had something worrying us in the back of our mind throughout the day without realising.

I've been advised to do deep breathing exercises and meditation, although with 3 kids I dont expect finding 15 minutes a day to yourself is very easy!

No it is very difficult. So that is why I try and walk out side on my front porch several times a day just to breath and have peace for if just for a min or 2
